How to use the toolkit
The objective of the toolkit is to help facilitate ideation on how anticipatory experiences and interactions can be designed in automotive showrooms.
Number of participants: 2 - 4.

Estimated time: 30 minutes - 1 hour.

Materials: Paper, pencils, stop watch and device for accessing this website.
The toolkit can be used in many different ways so feel free to adapt and explore alternatives!

1. Preparation
Before starting off, we recommend you to take a few minutes to get familiar with the cards and the different categories. Enter Card layout here on the website for a description on how each card is structured and Ideation toolkit to get an overview on all categories.

2. Warm-up
1) Take one card from each deck (Abstract, Behavioural, Concrete and Device) and place them facing up on the table.

2) Read through the cards. If something is unclear, Ideation toolkit on this website or the QR code on each individual card will provide more details related to the specific cards.
3) Now discuss how you interpret the cards - what elements caught your attention and how do you associate the listed suggestions? How can these be connected to anticipatory experiences?
4) After five minutes or when you feel ready, place the cards back in their respective deck.
"As a showroom visitor, I want to know more about sustainability by testing in a way that is immersive. I want to do this by using an interactive surface without physical strain".
*
3. Ideation!
1) Take one card from each deck and put them face up on the table.
2) Read through the four cards. Consult Ideation toolkit or scan the QR code to see more details if necessary.
3) Now, ideation can start! Start combining the cards and see how they can complement each other. A suggested approach is to create sentences that summarize the drawn cards. For instance:

The user wants to know more about [C] by [B] in a way that is [A].*

The Device cards can be seen as a means of implementing the objective of the sentence and can be applied differently depending on its content. Be creative!

4) Now, take 5 minutes to ideate and brainstorm on how your sentence can be solved through different interactions and experiences in an automotive showroom. Take notes and scribble ideas together.
5) Once the 5 minutes are up, draw another Abstract card and try including its content into your sketches for an additional 2-3 minutes.
6) When the time is up, go through your ideas and see if there is anything of value you would like to continue working with.

First iteration is now complete.
It is recommended to repeat the ideation phase a couple of times with different cards to create a pool of ideas that can be combined and further developed after the ideation is completed.
