This guideline provides customers the information they want to know before making a purchase, according to the user study conducted as part of this Master's Thesis.

Today, cars are much more than means of transportation and include countless of features that maintain, facilitate and make the driver’s life easier. These features are both mechanical, electrical and digital and cover a range of areas that may or may not be of interest to the showroom visitor. The development of the automotive industry does however mean that many people are not up to date on what is actually offered when buying a new electric performance car. Thus, topics people request more information about are:

What safety features are installed

  • These are both standard features such as airbags and ABS brakes but also newer safety features as well as services that will aid in case of an accident, such as whether or not roadside assistance is available or not.

 

How the car is connected

  • The connectedness within automotive industry is evolving rapidly, thus it is highly relevant to inform how these new connected features can help facilitate the customer’s everyday life and what is possible.

What functions the infotainment system holds

  • The technology and digital systems incorporated into modern vehicles today can greatly help in enhancing the driving experience. Trying out and getting information about such features and functionality can thus greatly contribute to the anticipatory experience.

 

What driving-facilitating features are available

  • Today, most cars offer different features that make driving into more of a hassle-free and seamless experience that can be greatly beneficial to inform customer about, an example being what ADAS, advanced driver-assistance systems, that are available.
